ALFRED DANIEL MALLETT of Guernsey, Channel Islands

I am searching for the family of ALFRED DANIEL MALLETT who was born in Guernsey. We thought the family line went back from Guernsey to France, but recently I found out that Alfred's father, ALFRED MALLETT, came from England according to the 1861 census. Alfred was a Dealer and Innkeeper. His wife was BETSEY (possibly Elizabeth) ROBIN.
He is possibly the son of JAMES MALLETT, Innkeeper, of Cambridge village in the parish of Slimbridge, Gloucestershire, England, but I have yet to confirm this.
If anyone is working on this line I would love to hear from you.
