I am related to the Stearns/Sterne line. I will give you some information about Robert Malle who was born about 1460 in Stoke by Nayland and died before September 12, 1556 in Hornchurch, Essex, England. He married Alice Unknown. They have the following children that I have discovered:
John Mawle/Maull, born about 1488, died about 1550
Thomas Mawle/Maull
George Mawle/Maull
William Mawle/Maull (He had a son, Robert)
Robert's will was probated September 12, 1556, Hornchurch, Essex, England. He was a yoeman.
It is now fairly certain the Suffolk and Essex families are at least descended from the de Mauley family, Barons of Mulgrave in Yorkshire. For this reason and from 'Early Records From England 1200-1600' there is an indication that Geoffrey Malle whose will was probated in 1505 in Hornchurch ESS was his father.
Since I could not get your email address from GenForum, I registered in order to reply. When registeration began I stopped placing messages. I do have much more information about this line, but I would need to know what you want specifically.
