I have found a Michael Mallaghan from Tremogue in Termonmaguirk Parish Co. Tyrone who married Sarah Donaghy, and had a daughter Margaret, baptised 12 Jan 1838, a son Eugene, baptised 4 March 1842, and another son Terence, baptised 10 August 1850. I transcribed this info from Termonmaguirk Baptisms 1834 - 1857.

On the 1911 Irish census there is a Terence Mallaghan, age 75 from Tremogue who is very likely the same one. He is married to a Mary, and their children were Catherine, Sarah, Mary, Michael, Ellen and Lizzie. You can see the records for free at http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/

There are other Mallaghans on the 1911 census and the 1901 census. You are lucky not to have such a common name to research - in Tyrone at least there are not too many Mallaghans around so they should be quite easy to track down. Good luck.

Bernadette
