I am looking for any information about my husband's family, just for my own records for the family tree. My Mother-in-law was born to a Jewish family, when she married Mr. Godfrey she cut all ties to home. Mr. and Mrs.Godfrey have long since passed away and the only living relative is my husband and his sister. Neither one of them know much about her family. We do have a birth certificate; it has the names of her father as Abraham Malkoff and her mother as Agnes Wolinski. I think that they may have changed their name, possibly "Mall" My mother-in-law was born in Detroit on June 30 1918, and was named Sophine Malkoff. She had changed her name to Shirley and then her married name was Godfrey. Can you please help? I would truly be grateful.We know nothing of any sibling or other relatives. They were in souther Michigan for a while but have not found any info.
