A Melick/Malick DNA Project has been initiated at FamilyTreeDNA.

Many tutorials and explanations about DNA testing are available at the FTDNA website.
The first goal of this project is to attempt to show the true parentage of John Melick 1753-1834 of OH and of John Malick 1762-1844 of WV. Descendants of both these men claim Philip and Maria (King) Melick as parents, and hopefully we can determine which is correct, and possibly the true lineage of the other.
Subsequent goals are those typically found when adding DNA to standard genealogical research, such as breaking down brick walls, proving paper genealogies, validating existing research, determining areas for further research, linking to new cousins, and finding homelands of our ancestry.
