I see that you have a interest in the John Michael Sr. family on the 1850 Census of Dinwiddie Co., Va. John Michael married Mary Mason Male in Chesterfield Co., Va in 1808. She was the daughter of Frederick Male (son of Joseph Male - Will 1796 in Chesterfield). John Micheal and his wife, Mary were my 4th Great Grandparents. The three children on the Census were their grandchildren. William Short born in 1838 is my line of desent. John and Mary Michael had a daughter named Elizabeth. She married a William Short in Petersburg, Va. in 1835. Both of them apparently died by 1850, which is why the children are living with the grandparents. I have other information about John and Mary Michael such as death and how they died. My interest is who the William Short married to Elizabeth is? I have tried to connect him to the Short's in the counties surrounding Petersburg, but have only circumstantial evidence. I live in Chesterfield Co. so I will be going back to the courthouse as soon as I am able to dig into what else I can find about the Michael and Male families. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
