I'm at a brick wall, and wit's end, help! I am searching for my husbands ggrandparents, and any siblings of his grandparents that might exist.
This is what I know:
His grandfather is Alex (called Alejandro) Maldonado.
B: 10/11/1911 in NM
D: 11/1981 in Albuquerque, NM
Alex's Father is called "Bandit Claris Maldonado" on the back of photographs, but that gets me no where on searches.
I have NO information on Alex's Mother.
His grandmother is Pauline (called Pablita). I have no idea what her maiden name was. Her SS death record is all I can find for Pauline Maldonado.
B: 6/28/1908 in Torreon, NM
D: 12/1982 in Jarales, NM
I have notes that her father was a Sanchez, possibly Carlos. My notes have Margarite (probably Margarita) as her mothers first name with a Lucan(?) or Lucero(?) as a last name.
None of these combinations get me anywhere. It's like none of them existed before New Mexico achieved statehood. I've tried census records trying to find Alex or Pauline as children to get their parents name, with no success. I've been told Pauline's parents owned (own?) a ranch in New Mexico. I can't find land titles online anywhere, not that it would do me much good without a last name to look for.
Can anyone help me? My husbands father died when my husband was young, so none of this information was passed. It's been so long now that his mother doesn't remember much any longer. Any good links on where to search would be helpful as well. I think I've tried most of the major sites, but I'm sure I'm missing something.
