Ismail exiled on the Seychelles ca. 1876

Dear all,
I'd like to know more about one of my great-great grandfather, named Ismail. He was one of those exiled to the Seychelles after the murder of the J.W.W. Birch (1st. Resident) of Perak, and after the so called Perak War (1875-76). I don't know whether he was involved in the murder or the war. Perhaps he was simply a follower of Sultan Abdullah who was also exiled along with the Mentri of Larut and Laksamana Muhammad Amin.
I was informed by my late father that this Ismail originally came from Batu Bara (Batubara), Sumatra. I guess he settled in the region of upper Perak (Kuala Kangsar - Lubok Merbau area) and never returned from the Seychelles.
Any specialist amongst you who are involved with the life of Sultan Abdullah of Perak during his exile on the Seychelles might be able to help me.
