FRED DENSHAM - PLANTER IN JOHORE AND PENANG
I am a relative of Fred Densham who served in World War One with the 5th Royal Irish Lancers and then went to Malaya to work as an Assistant Planter in Penang then a Planter Manager. By 1941 in Johore - not sure which Estate. He was Sapper 1204 [aged 51!] in the Johore Volunteer Engineers and a POW at Singapore. Thailand?? It appears that he adopted a Chinese daughter called Ruby. In 1952 he was still planting at Sungei Kahang Estate, Kluang, Johore. In December 1969
F. Densham had retired and was living at 97 Free School Road, Penang.
I would love to hear if any relatives of Fred Densham are still alive or if anyone has details of his life.
