I"m not sure but hoping this helps. My grandfather's name was John Philpus Hautamaki. He was born in Helsinki, Finland and came to the United States by boat when he was about 8 years old. John was born on 12-7-1891 and died in 1976. John's family name was changed to Maki when they arrived in the U.S. because immigration had a difficult time spelling it correctly. John arrived in Ellis Island, N.Y. John Maki married Elina Tamminin married in N.Y and had 5 children. Elina Tamminin Maki was born 9-30-1897 and died in 1934 at home in Elo, Mich. Some of John and Elina's children were Armi Maki,Edward Maki, Lillian Maki, Sylvia Maki, Edward, Mildred Irene Maki.

John's father died in a minning accident (possibly Mich.) and John's mother remarried an individual either John or Matt Kenpimen.
