It is true that John Davis, John Maker, Robert Cates and Andrews were the original settlers of Cutler< ME. We know that the Maker (Macor) family is of American Indian descent. Can John Makerís birth at Gayhead, Marthaís Vineyard 1759 be confirmed? I know that according to my Gr. Gr. Grandfatherís James Davis family record that, his father, John Davis, my Gr. Gr. Gr. Grandfather was born 1754 to 1756 at Gayhead, Marthaísí Vineyard, a Gayhead Indian.

I am also a Nickerson descendant through my Grandmother, Hattie Holly Thorntonís Mother Mary Jane Nickerson, married to Daniel Thornton of Cutler, ME and also a descendant of the Maker family through my other Gr. Gr. Grandfather, Daniel Davis who married Hannah Maker both of Cutler.

Hoping to hear from you or someone who is interested with this subject,

Sincerely,

Harvie A Davis, Jr.
Richard Davis (Richard R. Davis)
