The farm of George Makemson was even closer to Fort Mifflin than I thought. In the 1790 census his name is the 15th south of the Bartram's farms (not the 6th - I was using an incomplete list). More surprisingly, in the 1820 census George McEnson is the 5th name north of Fort Mifflin (probably a son of the family that was there during the Revolution.)
