I find your Tollison man in the 1910 census for Greenville Co., Oaklawn, SC, enumerated 19 April as Robert E. Tollison, age 23, bank cashier, and wife Cora E., age 21, and son David L., age 9 months. (I think Cora E. Terry was from Greenville.)

In the 1920 census, they are in Anderson Co., as Richard L. Tollison, age 32, assistant cashier in bank; Cora E., wife age 30, and son David L., age 10, all born South Carolina.

In his World War I draft registration, he calls himself Richard Ellie Tollison, born June 18, 1883, living Anderson Co., Pelzer, South Carolina, again a bank cashier. He called his wife Cora Terry Tollison, but on all of the census records, she is recorded as Cora E. Tollison. I'm assuming her maiden name was TERRY and she was the daughter of David and Annie Terry, since she named her first son also David, probably after her father. David and Annie Terry, along with Cora, and their children Horace, Carrie, Mamie and Willie, appear in the 1900 census for Greenville County, SC.

So he's clearly from the Anderson County area, but I don't find any man in the 1900 census by his name, nor any man named Richard Tollison that fits him or his father. There were a lot of Tollison families in Greenville Co., SC, int he 1900 census, and Richard should show up as a young man of about age 6-8 years old, but I don't find anything.

I looked for obituaries that might fit and found none. Sorry I can't be more help to you. You might want to write to the Greenville County Genealogy Society.
