Hi,
The approximate birthdate for my Henry Maize is 1812.He is the son of David and Catherine Acres Maize. The Acres,Acreesand other spellings are the same person. Henry and Eliza had my grgrandfather about 1847 in Schuyler Co. Mo.The knowledge I have is that of what I found on a burial (funeral) bill.It said that Henry and Eliza were born in Schuyler Co.That wasn't true, because the first settlers didn't get to Schuyler till 1830.
Without my notes the Maize's went from Md. to Vermillion, Il. and then went South to Alabama. Then they came back North after Catherine died. This would be about 1830.The trip took quite awhile and supposedly David also died on the trip North. The kids came on North with a man named Asalph Butler. Two boys and thier sister stayed in Schuyler Co and I believe John Maize went on to Harrison Co. with Mr. Butler.
I've been trying to find Eliza Forbes for about a year now. I don't know how long you have been doing your research, but, what I've found is that in the 1800's people married thier neighbors and alot of brother's married sisters.I found one the other day that a man's wife died and he married his niece. No small wonder that it is hard to track a line. I have a friend in Texas who can also fill in some blanks.
I'm at work now and will get back to you tonight from home.
