Can anyone ID this Peter Maitland? He lived at 6423 S. Normal Blvd. in 1909. He was listed on a 1909 Ellis Island record as a contact person ("friend") for a man named John Roy (1881-1926)who was returning to Chicago from a trip to Scotland.

John Roy was a son of William and Mary Roy who lived in Whiteinch, Glasgow, Scotland. His wife's name was Flora (1880-1919). They had a daughter Florence Whyte Roy (1910-1984). I don't know where they lived in 1910, but according to the census, they lived in Evanston, IL. in 1920. They are all buried in Memorial Park Cemetery in Skokie. IL.

My questions concern how Peter Maitland and John Roy knew each other: were they fellow countrymen, relatives, or Freemasons? Did Peter have any connection to the Caledonian Railway in Glascow?

Thanks for any clues!
Laura
