I think that my ancestors may be the Ulster Maitlands you are lookin for. James Maitland born Comber Town, Co. Down about 1797 came to England along with his sons and their families some time in the late 1840s. They orinally settled in the Sherburn, Pittington area in Co Durham and were all coal miners.
