Hello. I'm curious whether anyone is researching the MAITLAND families in Massachusetts / USA in the 1900 to 1950 timeframe. One of my KERR aunts married a Robert MAITLAND around 1935 probably in Somerville or Medford, MA. I checked the SSDI records, and he was born in 1914, but I don't know where he was born. My MAITLAND cousins live nearby, but they don't have a real interest in their family-tree. I know they have referred to their grandfather as "Pop" MAITLAND, and I believe he was a life-long barber. His shop was probably in the Somerville or Cambridge area. And, they said he spoke with a brogue, which leads me to believe that his family might have come to the US or Canada from Scotland. I have access to some census information, and Robert MAITLAND is not showing up during my searches. Perhaps he wasn't born in MA in 1914. ??? (I can only go up to the 1920 census.) I noticed that there weren't too many MAITLAND's showing up in census information - for all States, and not so many in Nova Scotia either (mostly in Quebec and Ontario) in the 1880 to 1920 timeframe.
