Diedre, I posted a nice long piece full of information for you. I think it went into the great beyond where most of my ancestors have managed to stop off. Karen is my second cousin a number of times removed. I don't think she stops by here often. I try to come to this list about once a month. Anyhow, in case my other post shows up, we have made it back to James Maitland marrying Anne McEwan in 1822 in Fintry. He appears out of the blue with no apparent links to anyone, save a Jean Maitland who married Andrew Paul in Fintry a few years before James married. Like you, I have data forward on most of James and Anne's children. The name Alexander does not seem to be a family name in this line. There seems to be this big blank block of events around the late 1700's. I guess we are lucky to get back that far. Some searchers can't even get back to 1850. Youcna reach me off list if youwant. just be sure you have James Maitland in the subject line - spam filters do a good job of blocking unwanted mail. Anne
