Alex Maitland and Jane Mortimer are my Great Great Grandparents on my mother's side. I'm not sure how much information you want, but here goes:
James was the twin of Ann, and as well as these two there were 11 other children born between 1857 and 1884. Alex Maitland was born on the 17th September 1820 in Marnoch, Banff. His parents were Alex Maitland and Jane or Janet Donald or McDonald. Jane Mortimer was born on 27th May 1840
in Old Keig, Aberdeenshire. Her parents were William Mortimer and Jane Grey. He died on the 26th January 1899 at Cattiehill, Keig, of Chronic Bronchitis. Jane Mortimer died on 11th January 1915, at Bankhead, Keig of Myocarial disease and Cardiac failure. I would be most interested to hear further about James and any family in the US. I have further information about our side of the family, and would be happy to pass this on if you tell me what you require. Hope to hear from you.
