The last male Maitland in our family has been a schyzophrenic for the last 30 years. Please help me find the stories to share with my children. William and Alexander came to Pennsylvania in 1700's to work in Steele mines? Believe I am of the William branch but my dad's name is Alexander so a littleconfused. Have the aMaitland coat of arms. Supposedly related to william, traitor to Mary Queen of Scots--also James Mailtand Stewart the actor? My granadfather grew up family in lumber industry in Wisconsin. Ring a bell.? Proud to be a maitland. (Also have a long lost cousin I met in Remond Oregon ..her dad was William aka Bud Maitland. Name may be Kirsten or Kristen? Proud to be a Maitland. That is how I was raised. thank you so much for any info.(P.S. I have traveled the U.S. frequently but never found a Maitland exceptofr a town in Florida. Where did that town come from? thank you...!!!
