Hi,
I am researching the GARLANDS of ELLON and have 2 Mair's marrying into the family. Thomas Garland of Ardlethen married Barbara Mair in 1850 and Catherine Garland married John Mair in 1835. I am assuming that the MAIRS are brother and sister. Hoping there is someone here who can help with more information. See there were only 4 of the Garlands that married, these 2 and the other 2 migrated to Australia. We dont have much history of the 2 in Ellon.
