In your last message you mentioned James Mair - did you mean John? Did you mean Wood instead of Woods?
Did your Mair family live in 35 Portknockie Banffshire Scotland in 1861?
According to my records the John Mair and Catharine Wood in my tree had the following children:

John Mair born circa 1842
Mary Mair born circa 1842
William Mair born circa 1847
Thomas Mair born 1852
George Mair born circa 1855

Perhaps we have different families.You can let me know what you think.
