Hi Robert,
Thank you very much for your information and the time involved in checking these names for me.
I will certainly keep in mind the marriage of Mary Paterson and John Mair in 1798.
My information came from a Will of Margaret Paterson's father, Robert Paterson of Galston. Drafted in 1814.
Although he named the spouses of his other children, he did not mention the first name of Margaret's husband.
He mentioned his grandchildren Matthew and Helen Mair, children of Margaret. He assigned his executors, sons John & William to care for them and supply tutoring.
I am waiting for the OPR film of Galston to come to arrive at the LDS library and hope this will help.
