Hi all
I am looking for the family past or present of my grand-mother ANNIE MAINWARING born 20 December 1908 at 45 Gilbert Street, Runcorn, Cheshire. She was the youngest daughter of CHARLES MAINWARING (1877-1947) and Sarah Mason (1875-1939).The other chilren were SAMUEL JAMES MAINWARING (1899-1973), he married Miss Mary Ellen Dutton and they had about 13 children, some born in Salford, Manchester and Wirral, Cheshire. ELIZABETH MAINWARING (1901-1981), married Harold Miller. GLADYS MAINWARING (1907-1979), married Harold Batty of Salford. And THOMAS MAINWARING born 1904.
The Mainwaring family of Runcorn, were Waterman/Bargeman and originally came from Weaverham, Cheshire. Some early members of the family were SIMEON BENJAMIN MAINWARING (1867-1947) and SAMUEL MAINWARING (1870-1944), son's of CHARLES MAINWARING (1841-1914) and Elizabeth Hedgcock of Gilbert Street, Runcorn.
