Mary Maines, Aug 1889,Missouri, Daughter

Sylvia Maines, Sep 1898,Missouri, Daughter
In 1900 they asked, among other things, how long the couple had been married, how many children the wife had borne, and how many of those children were still living. "Theadore" and Eva have been married 16 years in 1900. She has borne 8 children, 7 of whom are still living. That means one is elsewhere or their math is wrong. It also means that if Eva died in childbirth, it was after Sylvia and Goldie. Theadore is usually spelled Theodore, if you look him up elsewhere. With a surname like Mains, be sure to either check the Soundex option or try all four variations; Main, Maine, Mains, Maines.
Theodore is on the PRF married to Mary E. Mclain. The "E" is probably Eva. I con't find him in the LDS 1880. You could write to the person who entered him in the PRF.

Theodore is on RWWC, too:

I'm not related. I find genealgy puzzles more interesting than crosswords.
Please go to

and read the page on posting a good query. If you don't know about US Gen Web or the Roots Web mailing list archives, read the pages about links, too. You may find something more on a county-based site.
The Nodaway US Gen Web site has a link to Missouri birth records. Theodore and Mary Eva had a child named Manerva, Mineva or Minervy, depending on which version you believe, in 1885. She might be the one who died, or she may have been working as a hired girl on another farm by then, or she could have been married.
