Anastasia b. 1833, Quebec M. Joseph Ricard Sr. b. 1833, Charlotte Vermont. Anastasia is my gg grandmother. On her death certificate her last name is listed as what looks like Mazo but after looking at previous post could be Mayo. I have found a marriage record for Estasie Mailloux and Joseph Ricard dating their marriage as 1858 at Notre Dame, Granby, Shefford, Quebec. Her parents are listed as John Mazo? and Mary Degnas? (Ive had no luck tracing Degnas either). I do believe that Im on the right track because if I were to put my thumb on Granby, the area covered would be where just about all of my Ricard ancestors came from. My great grandmother Mary Carey was from Sherbrooke, she was married to Joseph Ricard Jr. Both sets of Ricards, father, son and their wifes died in Massachussetts. The older of the two in North Dana which no longer exists due to the Quabbin Reservoir. Joseph Jr. and Mary Ricard are buried in Athol Mass. If any of these names sound familiar to you or you could offer any insights into the Mailloux or even Degnas names please let me know. Thank you!!
