I found some info. about William Maillet + Mary Gaudet...
William "Josua" Maillet was the son of Charles Maillet (b: ? 1803) and Vénérande Melanson (m: ? 1831 in N.S.).
Charles Maillet is the son of Jean-Baptiste ¨Cassien¨, son of the
second mariage of Antoine-Salomon Maillet + Marguerite
Blanchard...He probably died before 1860 ? and soon after his son
William and his family moved to P.E.I.
Vénérande Melanson (b: Feb. 11, 1814) at Baie Ste-Marie, N.S.
was the daughter of Henri Bénoni Melanson + Rosalie Doucet.
Their mariage is registered (M-248: p. 73) in Tignish on the Sept.
25, 1877. Marie Gaudet , If my guess is OK, is the daughter of
Jean (John) Gaudet + Lucie Perry (Poirier) of Tignish and
(n/b: Oct 16,1855); Her godfathers were John Gaudet and Honoré
Gaudet. So John gaudet could be her father...
The listing of the 1881 census of P.E.I. of the Charles Maillet family
mentioned that Vénérande Melanson (widow of ) is living with
her family: Vincent (32), Malcolm B. (30), Vénérante (22; born P.E.I.), Marie (17; born P.E.I.) + William ¨Josua¨(34; born N.S.) and
Mary (22; born P.E.I.) his wife and childrens: John Joseph (2 ans)
n/b: Oct 25/Dec 01 1878, Palmer Road register
and Charles William (4 months) n/b: Nov 04, 1880/Jan 04, 1881,
Palmer Road register
