My 3x Great Grandfather Charles Maidment was born in East Stour, Dorset abt 1805. Charles parents were John and Elizabeth Maidment also from East Stour. Charles married an East Stour girl, Barbara Bridle, in 1826. The family moved to BroadChalke in Wiltshire where all but the eldest two of their children were born. I am a direct descendent of the Maidment line originating in East Stour. My maiden name was Maidment. Seems we must be distantly related?? I have in data on Maidments in East Stour going back to 1700 if you are interested.
