I have a little information on an Charles Maidment, i.e. from the 1871 census for Platt, Wrotham, Kent.
Charles Maidment, aged 13, was a pupil at the school where my g.g.grandfather, Edward May, was headmaster.
The place of birth for Charles Maidment was London, New Cross.
The name of the school was the Commercial Boarding and Day School, St Mary's, Platt,Borough Green, Wrotham, Kent. (The school was also known as the Commercial Academy)
If a copy of this census or information about the school is required, please e-mail me at janiejoy@onetel.net.uk
