I have found data pointing to the thought that Stephen Mahurin who died in NJ had a son named Ebenezer who married Hannah Kilbourne. I have found Ebenezer in Hampshire Co. VA now WVA in 1782. By 1787 he is dying in Wilkes Co. NC apparently. Instead of making out a Will he deeded land that he lived on in NC as well as two pieces of land in VA and property to his wife Hannah instead. Witnessee on that deed were Isaac Kilbourne a supposed brother to Hannah and Hannah's father, Amos Kilbourne. Another family associated with these is the Allens who were also from NJ.

With all of these names there must be some connection back to NJ. After Ebenezer Mahurin died his family is not actually found again until an Othniel Mahurin turns up in KY. He is supposed to be Ebenezer's son from NC. I know that Isaac Kilbourne went from Wilkes Co. NC to Greenbrier Co. VA now WVA. It is possible that he took Hannah and her family with him and that is how they came to be in KY.

Would appreciate any thoughts on these connections. I do not have access to deed records for either state and that could answer many questions as well as other courthouse items, etc.
