Kerry, Ireland in Feb. 1832 when married, wit- John Machir/Maher and Margaret Machir/Maher, in Gortaleen in Nov. 1832, 1834, 1837, 1845 lived Upper Ballyarkane in 1835, in 1841 in Kileenmurdisack,note her surname spelling, any of the 3 can be used, parents nam, and died Aft. 1845 in prob in Keel Parish Co. Kerry, Ireland, prob. buried Old Keel Cem., My second great-grandmother Barton. She married Patrick Barton 28 February 1832 in Keel Church, Keel, Castlemaine, Co. Kerry, Ireland, son of Third Barton and Third ?. He was born Abt. 1812 in prob in Keel Parish Co. Kerry, Ireland, 1832, 1834, 1837, 1845 lived Gortaleen, 1835 in Upper Ballyarkane, 1841 Kileenmurdisack prob. part of Gortaleen but in Keel in 1852 a Patrick Barton was in Gortaleen renting from Francis Rea, house office and land, and died Aft. 1845 in prob in Keel Parish Co. Kerry, Ireland,prob. buried Old Keel Cem. Mar 28 Feb. 1832 in Keel Church, Keel, Castlemaine, Co. Kerry; poss had a brother Denis who mar. Margaret Maher, a brother Daniel who mar. Mary Maher and poss a sister Mary who poss. mar.Tr.

Kerry, Ireland,Bpt Keel , spon- John Moriarty and Mary Evans, poss. emig during the famine, unknown what became of him, no known descendants, nothing to back up what the late Fr. Jim Barton said of him, so unknown who told Fr. Barton about hi; died Unknown in ?possibly USA, poss Terre Haute, IN, Fr. Jim Barton said that Barton St. in Terre Haute was named for him, and he arrived when the nuns did to found St. Mary's of the Woods, did he go on to Charleston , IL and mar. ?, no known descendants. He married ?? Unknown in ?.
3 ii. Mary Barton, born 29 January 1834 in Gortaleen, Keel, Castlemaine, Co. Kerry, Ireland, bpt Catholic in Keel spon- Bartholmew Machir/ Maher and Margaret Linnihin, Did she marry Edmond Dowd and live in house #6 in Lactacallo in 1901? poss had son Thomas born 1861 and daug Mary b. 1864??; died Unknown in she may have married and stayed in Co. Kerry, IR, or did she mar. John Prendergast of Caherfilane??.

Denis Pat Barton, Senior, born 20 September 1835 in Ballyarkane Upper (Oughter), Keel, Bpt Denis in Keel, spon- Maurice Leyne and Catherine Pearse(note her name is illegible on microfilm but the Presbytery sent as this), later lived in Gortaleen, made his mark to register dau. Kate's birth in 1873; died Aft. 1911 in Gortaleen,Keel, Castlemaine,Co. Kerry, IR, Farmer in 1891 in Gortaleen, also a Blacksmith there in the 1901 census, son of Patrick Barton& Catherine Machir/Maher, lived Gortaleen in 1867 when mar. a Bachelor farmer, lived Gortaleen in 1911 age 76, shopkeep. He married Bridget " Brigid" Daly 26 February 1867 in Catholic Chapel of Annascaul, County Kerry, Ireland; born Bet. 1839 - 1840 in Caherpierce, Inch, Annascaul, Co. Kerry, Ireland, my great-grandmother, Bpt records of Annascaul are missing for this time period so date is approx. from the 1901 census , lived Caherpierce in 26 Feb.1867 when mar. wit- Bridget Garvey and Daniel O'Connell; died Aft. 1911 in Gortaleen, Co. Kerry, Ireland, prob. buried Old Keel Cem., daughter of Daniel/Donal Daly 1811-1871and Bridget "Bride Bhan" O'Connor1805-1804, lived Gortaleen in 1911 age 72, mar. 45 years, 8 children all living.

Daniel Barton, born 17 September 1837 in Gortaleen,bpt Keel spon- Denis Barton and Honora Machir, mar into Ballintarmin Hoares, could not read, farmer, Bpt Keel, Spon- Denis Barton and Honora Machir, in 1901 age 59 farmer in Ballentarmon Annascaul; died Aft. 1901 in Ballintarmin, Annascaul , no idea when he died as none of his descendants remember but he died before his wife, mar. 10 Feb. 1866 Annascaul, wit-James Nelligan and Johanna Ashe, Daniel was from Gortaleen, his bride from Ballentarmin. He married Johanna Hoare 10 February 1866 in Chapel of Annascaul, Co. Kerry, Ireland; born 1848 in ?Co. Kerry, Ireland, Parents and siblings unknown, age 19, he was 26 in 1866 when mar. Annascaul, wit- James Nelligan and Johanna Ashe, daughter of John Hoare and ?; died Aft. 1925 in Ballintarmin, Annascaul, Co. Kerry, Ireland, buried ?, in 1901 age 53 wife in Ballintarmin Annascaul.

Patrick Barton, born 08 November 1841 in Killeermurdisak/Killeenmerdiant, spon- Timothy Kennedy and Sara West, in 1870 in Humboldt Twshp, Coles Co., IL there was a Patrick Barton age 26, born Ireland with wife Bridget age 26 born Ireland,; died Aft. 1880 in after 1900, buried ?,settled in Charleston, IL& had rooming house there that John Barton,& my grandmother came out to? in 1880 Patrick Barton age 37 grocer& wife Bridget age 29 in Charleston, Coles Co. IL, it is remembered he had a dau. He married Bridget ? Abt. 1869 in ?; born Bet. February 1844 - 1851 in ? Ireland, in 1870&1880 in Charleston, Coles Co., IL thought to be aunt &uncle of my grandmother, 9 children, 1 living in 1900, mar. before 1870 place unknown; died Aft. 1880 in ?, buried ?, it is remembered that he had a daughter close in age to one of the Sheehan girls as her descendant said she was sent there to keep his daughter company, in 1897 husband's nephew John Barton states on Ellis site he was headed to Charleston, IL,.

Catherine "Katie" Barton, born 28 August 1845 in Gortaleen, Keel, Castlemaine, Bpt spon- Florence Sullivan and Honora Maher, daughter of Patrick Barton and Catherine Maher, they lived Castledrum where Tom Daly now lives, after eviction lived opposite Forge, beside ruin of Old Church, my great-grandaunt; died 11 March 1932 in Boolteens West, buried Old Keel Cem. with son Ned, Dee has her as dying 31 Jan. 1932, she and husband lived in Castledrum, but were evicted and moved to Boolteens, poss d 1 Feb. 1932? Connie, a grandda has seen letter from women who made her funeral shroud. She married Patrick Sheehan 09 February 1865 in St. Gobnet's Catholic Church, Keel, Castlemaine, Co. Kerry, Ireland; born 1845 in ?Co. Kerry, Ireland, was he the son of Daniel Sheehan and Elizabeth Neil of Boolteens, b. 31 Aug. 1833, parents not married??or was he the son of Timothy Sheehan and Bridget Connor the Patrick bpt 17 Feb. 1845, I think he could fit as their s ?; died 03 December 1910 in Boolteens West, Keel, Castlemanie, wit at mar. Patrick Sheehan and Patrick Barton, They were evicted from Castledrum and later lived in Boolteens, one of the windows in Keel Church is dedicated to their son Ned, the only one of their children to remain.

Kerry, Ireland, not certain of him ? there is a daughter of a John Barton buried in 1915 in Coles Co., IL in Mounds Cem. near Charleston, IL; died Unknown in Possibly in ?, southern Illinois, USA,poss Charleston, IL. He married Wife of John Barton Unknown in ?; born Unknown in ?; died Unknown in possibly in southern Illinois, USA.
