My maternal grandmother Ethel ROHLES's maiden name was spelled MAHANY. She was born in Delta, Delta County, Colorado in November 1896. Her father was Frank Albert MAHANY (born 1865 in Georgetown, Clear Creek County, Colorado. Died Oct/Nov 1944 in the Phillippines) Frank married October 1887 to Annie Jane BROWN in Grand Junction, Mesa County, Colorado. Frank's father was Jeremiah "Jerry" George MAHANY (born Nov 1836, Miramichi Bay, New Brunswick, Canado, died Jan 1915 Buffalo, Erie, New York) Jeremiah married 1865 in Buffalo, Erie, New York to Sarah Cynthia SCOTT. Jeremiah's father John MAHANY who was supposedly born in the County of Cork, Ireland arrived in Canada in the 1830's. I'm not sure how the name was originally spelled.
