Good morning, Emily Mahaney.
I just spotted your quiry, and hope that you are still on-line.
My Great Grandmother was MARTHA ANN (SPAULDING) MAHANEY.
Martha was a triplet, born 12-10-1830, to Stephen and Margaret (Barclay)Spaulding, in St. Louis, MO.
About 1850, she married Benjamin Mahaney (of the TN branch).
...relocated to Alvarado, TX,
...bore several children,(5),
...died in 1919, and was buried at Arlington, TX,
... a daughter was Virginia (Mahaney) Turner, my grand mother.
The cemetery at Alvaradro (Glenmont, I believe) is full of the Mahaney clan.
As you know, there were numerous name changes along the way.
You have our version, Mahaney, which is Martha's signiture in the family bible I inherited about 20 years ago.
You will find lots of Mahanays, but not many Mahaneys.
I sure hope this reaches you.
FYI...I was born in Fort Worth, TX, where I still abide.
My birthdate was 1-17-1925 , which makes me 82,
...married 63 years to Betty (Wright ) Turner, who bore five wonderful children, 2 beautiful girls and three handsome sons.
I would appreciate hearing from you...HURRY.
Louie F. Turner.
