Hi, I was always told that our Mahaney ancestors in Ireland had the last name McElhaney. It was changed after moving to America.

I found the name William McElhaney in the list of archives on your link. But it gives a date of Sept. 12, 1777 and I think our William died at the Battle of Brandywine which was fought on Sept. 11, 1777. But you may want to check it out. Chris
