Dear Karen,
I've just entered the fascinating world of genealogy.
However, the chances are fairly good that we share some of the same relatives.
From twelve pages of hand-written notes from my father, many of his family members lived in Alvarado, TX.(Johnson Co., TX., as I am certain you already are aware.
My father, Daniel Benjamin Mahanay, was born in Cuervo, NM, in 1910.He died here in Pampa, TX. Feb.23, 1995.
My Grandfather, Wiley Oliver Mahanay was born in Maries County, Missouri, Feb.6, 1874.
I know there is a J.P. Mahanay listed in the Venus Cemetery of Johnson County, TX.
If you would desire any additional information that I have, I'd be more than happy to share that with you.Dad had an Uncle Charles Mahanay that moved to CA. in or about 1900.
I have some interesting notes pursuant to the possible Irish spelling, as well as the ey variation.
Sincerely,
Wiley Michael Mahanay
