NAME CHANGE from MAHANEY to McHANEY
Posted by: Jeanne D. Hale Date: February 22, 2002 at 12:31:21

In searching the McHaney forum, I found a suggestion that our "brick wall" at Cornelius McHaney 1782-1842 might be due to a name change when this family came to America. MAHANEY, MAHONEY, McMAHAN, and others were suggested. Cornelius was married to Mildred Hicks (Hix). Perhaps you have Mildred's name in your databse. PLEASE LOOK! You would make a lot of people very happy if you could help us establish a connection. Thanks for your time and trouble.
Jeanne
