Revolutionary War Mahaney: Some Questionable Info

Hi, Clan! Accidentally stumbled onto this find from another gen. listserv. The website address below takes you to the PA Archives online. Once you get there, the first listed link will take you to Revolutionary War Military Records:

I've done a little hunting already, and come up with several viable candidates for our William(1)---but be aware; our current spelling (Mahaney) isn't there. Based on some info from the O'Mahoney Society that Mahaney is a variation and can be anything from Mahan to Mahon to Mahoney to Matthews to O'Mahoney or O'Mahan or O'Mahaney here in the U.S.---I'm keeping an open mind as I explore.

PLEASE everybody, search and let's see if we can find our fellow! Let me know if anyone has any luck!!!!
