Hello Cousin Mary! Thanks for responding.Does your "note" mean that William, husband of Susannah and father of Thomas, Henry, and David, was the son of a William Mahaney who was killed at Brandywine?Thomas' mother was definitely Susannah Schrader (spelling correct) daughter of Henry Schrader.(His name may have been "Heinrich", and he may have been--according to family lore-- a Hessian soldier in the Revolution.)
Anyway, if the William you mention was killed is the father of Thomas, that is incorrect.Thomas' father was born in 1767 and didn't die until 1856.His mom wasn't born until abt 1780 (your date may be correct) so it wasn't she who lived in the log cabin.
Would you mind emailing me so we can clarify this information a little better?I believe we may be able to offer each other new and exciting stuff! :-)
Oh yeah! Are you descended through Silla, Anna, Malcolm, or Martha?
I look forward to hearing from you.
Regards,
Angela
