My name is Debra LaMel and my ggggrandfather was one Andrew David Crockett who had a sister named Sarah who married Daniel Lowe. Sarah and Daniel married in Rankin Co Ms in 1836. They had 2 children named Mary who married John Mahaffey and Eliza who married Oliver Mahaffey. Oliver was also a bondsman on the marriage records for Sarah Crockett's sister Letty Crockett who married Elias Whitmire who also married in Rankin Co Ms in 1837.
I have the will for John Lowe who mentions Oliver and John Mahaffey.
I am interested in finding out about the Sarah Mahaffey who is buried in Keechi Cemetary in Leon Co Tx and how she is related. I believe she may be the Sarah Richardson who married a Mahaffey. Her dates are 11-22-1829 5-5-1889.
There is a another lady who is also buried there and her name is Martha E Mahaffey who married Isaac Newton "Buddy" Rutherford. She is the daughter of a William Mahaffey and Sarah Richardson. Is this William also the Amos who married a Sarah Richardson who some people posted on this forum.
Martha and her husband are buried in Oakwood Cem also in Leon Co tx.
I have alot of info on the people of Jasper Co Tx as I have been working on those families for 4 years. Just this past Sat I went to keechi cem to take pictures of some of my relatives buried in that cem. My gggrandfathers brother David Crockett 1854-1900 is also in that cemetary.
I have been working on the Crockett, Rutherford, Richardson, Whitmire, Lowe, Strother/Strawther families of Jasper Co Tx among other ones like Dryden, Cochran, Foster Families as well from 1840-1920.
Would love to find out about the Mahaffey Families as well and exchange info on these families.
