Beech springs is a name once used for a township around Duncan and Reidville in spartanburg County. I believe we have communicated before. I know that Joseph Mahaffey had 9 brothers and sisters and that he fought in the Civil war. I too have hit a brick wall beyond that. It is reasonable that your Elizabeth may be one of those siblings, considering this area was populated by many Woffords. I have one or two long lost cousins that may ahve more info on the Mahaffeys if I can track them down. I will let you know if I find any further info.
