Rob -

I've seen the Archbald Mahadys before in the census, but have been unable to show any link between your Daniel and my Martin. On the other hand, Mahady is a relatively rare name (at least for an Irish surname), and Olyphant and Archbald are less than 4 miles apart. I'll keep you posted if I can come up with more.
