I am not related to these people, and am not researching them. I had ancestors who lived in both these areas, so I might have further information which I will enter when I can. From the book "Pasquotank County, North Carolina Record of Deeds, 1700-1751" compiled by Gwen Boyer Bjorkman, 1990, is the following:

North Carolina Perquimons County - William Magown of sd. Parish & province Planter aged about 40 years being Sworn on the Holy Evangelist, deposeth & saith that he knew Law: Debutt, rector of William & Mary Parish in St. Mary's County in Maryland was Rector there when he left Maryland & had been so for many years before & also that he knew George Clarke to be one of the Eldest Justices in that County & Further saith that he verily believes the sd. John Diall now here in this County of Perquimans & mentioned in a Certificate from Maryland under the hand of the abovesaid Debutt dated the 26th day of July 1748 to be the very same John Diall that married Sarah Shirly mentioned in the said Certificate -- Taken on Oath before me one of his Majesty's Justices of the Peace for the said County this 2 Aug 1748. Signed: William Magowne. Wit: Tho: Weeks, Regt: 21 July 1748 at the Request of Thos. Meads."

There is further mention of these other people, but none of William Magown (at least none in the index).
