Two people are posting a query about Marks Magley of Copake, NY on a rootslist. I can't get onto the list to reply. Perhaps they will see it here.
Gravestone information: Marks Magley, born 1845, died 1924. Buried with family at Methodist Episcopal Church Cemetery. Wife was Susan Miller, born 1845, died 4 Nov. 1924.
1...Homer, married Blanche, two children: Hazel and Miller H. Magley.
2...Emma B., never married, died 3 Aug. 1908.
3...Sarah married Clarence Decker. No children listed. Died between 1920 and 1930 census.
4...Blanche, never married, died 1923.
5...Cora, married or died after 1930 census.
6...Katherine, married or died after 1920 census.
So Homer was the only one to have children and his son, Miller H. Magley, married Beatrice Leona Melius and they had 3 children:
1...Miller D. married Nancy A. Todd and (AFAIK) live in Utah. There were 3 sons: Gary M.; Bruce T. and Dale M. Magley.
2...Larry married Maureen, nothing more in my notes
3...Gordon married Rita R., nothing more in my notes.
Marks Magley was son of Johannis F. Mechley/Magley and Lorinda Latimore. Marks was one of 11 children. Johannis and Lorinda were buried in a hill cemetery outside of Snydersville, NY on Snydersville Road. This is private property and the cemetery has been neglected for years. The Magley family graves have been unfortunately swallowed by the trees.
Please contact me <MaeMay510@aol.com> Marks was brother to my husband's ancestor, John Magley, married to Mary Finger.
