Our Maginnis come from County Down, Townland of Woodgrange and Village of Hollymount. Belfast area close to Downpatrick.

Hugh Maginnis or 'McGuinness' B. 1734 in Woodgrange, Down, Ireland, married to a Jane who was B. 1740.
Children are: John Maginnis or McGuinness.
John B: 1764 in Woodgrange Township. He married a Dorothy 'Rea' or 'Wray', B: 1778. She dies in Hollymount in 1858. Their children are:
John Maginnis. Born Woodgrange. 1810
William Maginnis. Born Woodgrange. 1813
Anne Maginnis born in Hollymount/Woodgrange. 1817. D: 1867 in NY.
James Maginnis. B. 1820 in Hollymount.
Hugh Maginnis. B. 1807. Woodgrange.
Sarah Maginnis. B 1813. She married William Nesbitt and died in 1896 in Woodgrange.

Anne Maginnis noted above married James Maginnis, B: 1813.D:1857. NY
James parents were Hugh, B:1765 and Sarah Maginnis, B:1770.
Anne and James married March 2, 1850 in Downpatrick. They settled in Westfield, NY. We are not sure which port they sailed into.
Their children are:
Margaret Anne Maginnis. B: 1853. Westfield, NY
Hugh Maginnis. B: 1853. Westfield
Sarah Jane Maginnis. B: 1858. Westfield
James Edward Maginnis. B: 1858. Westfield

Since then we are not sure what happed to Margaret or Sarah, yet Hugh ended up in Ohio and James in Kansas. My family are wondering if the boys were placed on an Orphan Train.
