Hello,
I am very excited to hear from you. I knew that Donald, my grandfather, had one brother, Bernard, but I have not been able to find out any information for him or his family.
Donald was born 3/15/1914 and died 2/23/1967 in Lancaster, Ohio. He married (1) Alta Jean Schnell and (2)... Mary unknown. His parents were Florence Sullivan and William Magers. I have not been able to find out much on either of these people, but here is what I have.
Florence was born Nov. 29, 1894 and died Sept. 8, 1983 (apperently she out lived both of her sons. She was living in a nursing home at the time of her death, Homestead Nursing Home. She is buried in St. Mary's Cemetery in Lancaster, Oh. Her death cert. list's her parents as William Sullivan and Mary Green. I did find on the Ohio 1910 census a Mary Sullivan who had a daughter named Florence the same age as this one. No father at this time so he may have been deceased. I did find some other info on the possible parents and lineage of Mary Green Sullivan, but nothing I can confirm or deny as of yet.
I have no info on William Magers. I do not know when he died or who his parents were. I need to go back to Lancaster to do some research but just have not gotten a chance as of yet.
My aunt Barbara (Magers) gave me copies of some photos she had. There is one of 4 people and she said they were William, Florence, Donald and Bernard. I have several of Donald and one of Florence and my dad (Larey) as a baby.
My home e-mail address is dcollins@frognet.net if you would like to see these pictures I can scan them and e-mail them to you.
I think my Aunt Barb told me she thought Bernards family had moved to South Carolina or somewhere like that. I live in Meigs County, Ohio, about 1:15 south of Lancaster.
