My great grandfather was Bonifacio Madrid. Born in El Paso County Texas about 1860's. He married Refugio Cazares who was born in Spain. They had 12 children, one of them was my Grandfather Lorenzo Cazares Madrid who was born around 1874 in San Elizario, Texas. He married Adeladia Montes. They had three children. A daughter died at an early age. My father Lorenzo Federico Madrid was born in San Elizario also. My uncle Maximo Madrid also born in San Elizario but moved to Costa Mesa California where he died in 1986. My father passed away in 1995. I am also having problems tracing back before my great grandfather. The story that I've been told is that the Madrids were part of a Spanish land grant that is registered in Chihuahua Mexico. I feel that all the Madrids along the border with Mexico in West Texas are closely related. Other Surnames in my Familytree are Montes and Garcia. If you think that my familytree will benefit you please let me know and I'll send you a copy.

Luis
