Hi, I'd love to help you if I can but need more info. Your grandfather went by Lawrence Madore but you go by Laplante with the middle name Madore. I assume this is a carryover of the use of the Quebecois "dit" names. Do you have a first name for your gr=grandfather>? I would doubt if his first name was Madore but it's possible. Your grandfather's birth/death record might tell.

Where was your grand-father born? My grandfather had a brother Pierre (Pete) who lived in Michigan. Who knows, we may be closely related. Do you have any idea geographically where your gr-grandfather was from? Do you know his wife's name?
