It's strange that I click on to this surname with the intention of asking the same question, and find your query already listed here. Rev. Jean-Francois Petitpas (native of the Islands) are both looking for the same answer as you. We know that William's wife, Marie Couenne (called Aucoin in the Etang-du-Nord registers) remarried in 1881 to Laurent LeBlanc; and that William Madore, Sr. died in 1870 (no dates or age or other identifying factors. What's even more strange is that Marie, about 48-50 years of age remarried Laurent, who was according to the registers only 28 years old, born in 1853. Jean couldn't believe the age difference of 20 years, but the 1901 census of Etang du Nord lists them as : Laurent 50 and Marie 70! Will keep you posted if I or Jean learn anything else concerning them. Stay in touch, cousin. Dennis Boudreau
