I am aslo trying to figure out where the Madores of Pictou, Nova Scotia originated from. I have all original parish records of the Magdalen Islands from 1793-1900 on microfilm. I havn't come across any Madores yet. I will keep looking. The Madores of Pictou, Nova Scotia married people from the Magdalens. I have a Florence-Josephine Madore born 1908, died 8 October 2000 in Pictou. Florence married Norman "Popeye" Poirier of the Magdalen Islands. Florence was the daughter of Frank Madore and Julia Thorne of the Magdalen Islands. There was also a Marie Madore (Frank's sister) married to Joseph Thorne (Julia's Brother) in Pictou.
The Thornes from the Magdalen Islands are connected to my family. Florence was also the bridesmaid at my grandparents wedding. There was also a Ambroise Madore (1896-1949)in Pictou.
