The following information came from the 1891 census of Cape Breton County, Nova Scotia, for North Sydney. I was provided to me by Jack MacDonald, who was kind enough to look it up for me.
William Madore - b. ca. 1833 in N.S. - Seaman Cook
Veronica - b. ca. 1853 in N.S. - wife
Elizabeth - b. ca. 1872 in N.S.
Josephine - b. ca. 1874 in N.S.
John Joseph - b. ca. 1875 in N.S.
James A. - b. ca. 1879 in N.S.
Francis - b. ca. 1881 in N.S.
Mary V. - b. ca. 1882 in N.S.
Maude - b. ca. 1886 in N.S.
Mary Madore - b. ca. 1829 in N.S. - Sister
Based on this I would say that there is not a direct relationship at the level of these generations. The re-occurrence of common first names could mean a connection in previous generations.
